summertime

I ended up doing 16 weeks on the Cambridge Diet and lost 2 stones. I should have lost more in that time, but my thyroid went kaputt at some point and I had to up my dose of thyroxine. To those who know about hypothyroidism, it can really contribute to a situation where you pile on the pounds.  So I didn't really stand a chance on the diet and, after several weeks of hardly losing any weight, decided to stop and wait until the thyroid was sorted out.

Being 2 stones lighter has made a huge difference to me, so I'm not going to dwell on the negative aspects of what happened. I no longer hate looking at myself in a mirror and have rediscovered the joys of clothes shopping (right when I have bugger-all money to buy any - hooray!) It's good to be off the diet during the summer months, too. I think I'd go crazy if I couldn't eat salad, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, peaches...etc!
